Neuro Physiotherapy
Damage to the brain, spinal cord, or nerves are referred to as neurological damage. We frequently work with patients whose neurological damage has happened quickly, as a result of a stroke or head injury for example; while other patients come to us to help them overcome slowly developing neurological damage that comes with the onset of Multiple Sclerosis or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Symptoms of Neurological Damage
People suffering with a neurological problem may experience loss of movement, sensation, balance or coordination and as a result may have difficulties with day-to-day activities such as dressing, walking, standing from a sitting position and holding and carrying items.
The aim of the neuro physiotherapy specialist is to aid the management of their patient’s problems through an on-going program of advice, education and exercises as well as the development of management programmes and strategies that assist with daily activities.

Neuro Physiotherapy Treatment
You can visit us at our studio in Kingston, or we will visit you in your home and carry out an assessment of your current physical ability and discuss what you would like to be able to achieve. This initial consultation is free and at the end of it we will outline a program that will set out how we propose to manage or reduce your physical problems and achieve your aims.
In the past we helped stroke victims to walk confidently and in one particular case worked with them so that they could pick their baby daughter up in their arms for the first time after injury. Results like this are very satisfying for the patient and for the physiotherapist treating them.
We are registered with a number of health and insurance companies if you are paying for treatment as a result of a claim. We often work with people who find that their NHS Physiotherapy is insufficient, or stops too quickly for their aims to be achieved and who decide to pay for private physiotherapy. In these cases we can devise programs to fit individual treatment needs and finances. Contact us now to find out more.
INTENSIVE PHYSIOTHERAPY
Intensive physiotherapy has benefits for patients who have had recent surgery, particularly on backs, those recovering from limb fractures, or are suffering from chronic conditions such as back pain. In some instances intensive physiotherapy may provide a more satisfactory solution than invasive surgery.
Each of our physiotherapists will work one-on-one with clients requiring post-operative rehabilitation and for those suffering from spinal problems, sports injuries and chronic pain. The physiotherapist will assess the problem, provide a diagnosis and an integrated treatment plan, and keep working with you through to your recovery.
Intensive physiotherapy offers fast results, thus enabling a speedy return to work or sports, better pain relief and, as reported by many of our clients, an incredible feel good factor.
“A new study in Physical Therapy journal has shown that people who undergo surgery to treat lumbar disc herniation in the back are likely to benefit from intensive physiotherapy.” Arthritis Research UK
